| Animal Rescue Flights Goals |
| While the day to day mission of Animal Rescue Flights is well known (transporting animals from kill shelters to rescues in other areas of the country using voluteer pilots and General Aviation aircraft), the long term goal of promoting the importance of spaying and neutering is equally important, if not more so. Animal rescue flights save lives, but they don't address the cause of the problem, which is animal overpopulation due to the lack of spaying and neutering. Bob Barker, the host of the popular "The Price Is Right" game show for many years, is a vocal advocate for spaying and neutering. He ended each show by asking the viewers to please spay or neuter their pets. Without more widespread attention, the problem of animal overpopulation will get worse. It's like having a hole in a boat. Transporting animals to new homes bails out the water, but promoting the importance of spaying and neutering will help patch the hole. That's why we need to do both and that's why anyone, including non-pilots, are important to us. Whether you are a pilot, non-pilot volunteer, or a member of the media, the information on these pages will show how you can make a difference, and if your efforts help to save even one animal, you will have made the difference between life and death. Please read through these pages and share the information with others. We also look forward to hearing your ideas.
